We are a state-licensed school and undergo regular inspections to ensure we consistently meet or exceed requirements for teacher-to-student ratios, class sizes, staff qualifications, safety, and cleanliness. In addition, the local Fire Department routinely inspects our equipment and safety protocols to ensure the highest level of protection for our children and staff.
What programs do you offer?
We offer infant (starting at 12 weeks), toddler, and preschool programs. We also offer summer camp and enrichment programs.

Teachers share daily updates about your child’s routine, activities, and milestones through our parent engagement app, Daily Connect, allowing for direct, real-time communication. What is your curriculum?
At My Little University, we utilize the Creative Curriculum®. Creative Curriculum is a research-based, play-centered approach to early childhood education that nurtures children’s natural curiosity and love of learning. It balances teacher-guided and child-initiated activities, allowing children to explore, experiment, and make meaningful connections to the world around them. How do I enroll my child at My Little University?
If you are interested in enrolling your child at My Little University, please contact our reception team. Our Associate Director will provide a virtual enrollment packet for you to complete. You will also need to request your child’s current immunization and physical forms from your pediatrician and schedule an enrollment meeting with our onsite owner to complete the process. What are your safety features?
The safety and security of our students is our top priority at My Little University. Our school is equipped with a safety button at the front desk, an automatic bolted front door, and a secondary door to classrooms that can only be opened by administration and staff. Digital cameras throughout the building and grounds record both video and audio to ensure continuous monitoring. We also conduct regular fire drills and lockdown exercises to prepare for emergencies. Additionally, all of our staff members have undergone thorough background checks, giving families peace of mind that their children are in a safe and secure environment.
Do you have cameras in the building?
At My Little University, we have cameras throughout the interior and exterior of our building that record both video and audio. These cameras are actively recording and store footage for 90 days. For the privacy and safety of all children, camera access is restricted to administration only; parents do not have access to the footage.
What methods of discipline do you use at My Little University?
At My Little University, we use positive discipline, a strategy that focuses on teaching and guiding rather than punishing. Positive discipline emphasizes clear expectations, encouragement, and constructive feedback, helping children learn self-regulation, responsibility, and respect for others while fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.
Do your teachers help with potty training?
Absolutely! Toilet training is an important part of our two-year-old program, as it helps children develop independence and self-help skills. Success requires consistency, so we ask that parents continue daily potty training at home. Every effort your child makes is met with praise and encouragement, reinforcing confidence and a positive approach to learning this important milestone.
What is your sick policy?
For the health and safety of our students and staff, children should remain at home if they are sick, not feeling well, or unusually lethargic. If a child becomes ill while at school, parents will be notified and are expected to pick up their child promptly. Children with a fever of 100.4°F or higher will not be allowed to return until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours. Upon enrollment, parents receive a Parent Handbook with detailed guidelines regarding our sick policy to ensure the well-being of all children and staff.
What happens if my child gets hurt at school?
If a child has an accident at school, parents will be notified immediately, and an incident report will be provided for signature at pick-up. For any injuries to the head, neck, or face, parents will also receive a phone call. All of our staff are trained and certified in CPR and First Aid for adults, children, and infants. In the case of a serious injury, the school will contact 911 immediately to ensure prompt medical attention.
How can I become involved at My Little University?
At My Little University, we value parent involvement and believe that strong partnerships between families and our school are essential to each child’s success. We welcome parents to participate in a variety of ways, such as volunteering as a classroom parent, helping with special or charitable events, or visiting us for a read aloud with the children.
Are meals provided at My Little University?
At My Little University, meals are included in tuition and thoughtfully prepared to support healthy growth and development. Our daily menu features breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks, all made in our center by our very own MLU Chef. Meals include a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, along with milk, and we provide vegetarian options. Parents may also choose to send food from home, provided it is nut-free (as we are a nut-free school) and does not include sugary treats like candy or donuts.
What is your student-to-teacher ratio?
At My Little University, we follow state guidelines for required student-to-teacher ratios, but we always strive to maintain low ratios to provide individualized attention and support for every child. Our MLU Floating Teachers assist classrooms daily, offering extra support where needed and stepping in when staff are absent due to illness or vacation. This ensures that our classrooms are always well-supported and that high-quality care and attention are consistently maintained.
Are your staff trained?

At My Little University, every staff member is required to complete comprehensive training to ensure the highest quality care and education for our students. This includes CPR and First Aid, Creative Curriculum®, ITERS and ECERS (the rating scales used by Grow NJ Kids), diversity and inclusion, Pyramid Model, health and safety practices, and more. Most of these trainings are completed and certified through NJCCIS (New Jersey Child Care Information System).

In addition, we provide ongoing professional development opportunities for our teachers, including a dedicated Professional Development Week in the last week of August and sessions on Martin Luther King Day in January, ensuring our team stays current with best practices in early childhood education.

How do you represent cultural diversity at My Little University?

At My Little University, we celebrate and value cultural diversity, making it our mission to ensure every child feels represented and included in our school community. When families enroll, they complete an “All About Me” form to share their cultural background and the holidays they celebrate, helping us create an environment where each child’s heritage is acknowledged and honored.

Our classrooms reflect this commitment, with books, toys, and displays representing a variety of cultures. We celebrate different cultures through holiday traditions, cultural read-alouds, and themed events, and encourage students and teachers to dress in cultural clothing for special occasions. Each year, we also host a Cultural Fair, giving children the opportunity to explore and learn about the rich diversity of the world around them.

At My Little University, our teachers continually assess children’s development across cognitive, social-emotional, physical, language, literacy, and mathematical domains throughout the year. Using Creative Curriculum®, teachers integrate assessment opportunities into lesson plans to better understand each child’s strengths and needs, allowing us to differentiate instruction for optimal growth. Assessments are reviewed with parents twice a year during parent-teacher conferences, ensuring open communication about progress. Additionally, we utilize the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ), which is completed by both teachers and parents to provide a comprehensive view of each child’s development across home and school environments.
What other languages do you incorporate into your curriculum?
At My Little University, we introduce Spanish and American Sign Language (ASL) in all classrooms, from infants through Pre-K, to support early language development. When does My Little University close?

My Little University is open year-round, closing only for federal holidays. The one extended break we take is during the last week of August, allowing our teachers to participate in Professional Development Week and giving us time to complete building and classroom maintenance, ensuring our classrooms are ready and perfect for the first day of school.

Toys are sanitized every day during nap time, and we use a special sanitation device that sprays a botanical solution to maintain a clean environment. In addition, air purifiers in every classroom help ensure fresh, healthy air throughout the school.
Do you offer sibling discounts?
At My Little University, we are pleased to offer a sibling discount to support our families. Families with multiple children enrolled receive a 10% discount on tuition for the oldest sibling, helping make quality early childhood education more accessible for everyone.
What is your policy for long vacations?
At My Little University, we understand that families sometimes take extended vacations. For absences of one month or longer, families have the option to pay 50% of tuition to hold their child’s spot in the program. Alternatively, families may choose to disenroll during the break, but this comes with the risk of losing their place in enrollment until they return.
